I do not nap too much!

'D' thinks I nap too much. Way too much. Every time I lay down to nap, he will say "Is that all you ever do is nap????"

I'll have you know, I only nap when I am tired. I am in this big house all day long, guarding it. That takes energy! There are a lot of rooms I must explore, just to make sure everything is in it's place. That takes time and energy. And a very cunning cat.

It makes me sooooo mad! Let's see him guard this house all day long, going from one room to another looking for things out of place. Looking for intruders, making sure the windows are locked as well as the doors.

Hmpf! I bet he would nap too!

Cat Nip

Catnip.

Funny sounding word. It's a plant. Most of them having pretty flowers. But that is not what is so exciting about the plant.

Catnip is the cat's grass. You know - pot.

It is not addictive. Just makes you feel ummmmmm active and it makes you act like a nut. A loon.

'D' has some growing in his flowerbed. Hope it survives the winter.

That is one aspect of spring I do like. Fresh catnip.

Time for bed. Hmmmmm can you guess what I will be dreaming about?

Are You Gonna Eat That?

I think 'D' is beginning to get a wee bit annoyed at me. When he sits down in his favorite chair after working all day, to snack and read the newspaper, I meow at him. He always looks at me and says "What do you want." or "Why don't you go lay down." or "Get off the newspaper."

And all I am doing is asking him a single, simple question. "Are you gonna eat that?"

Because he takes a bit of whatever wonderful looking treat he is eating, and then sits it down on a saucer. So, if he isn't going to eat it - I will! So that is why I ask him that.

Mmmmmmm I wonder if there is a CD out there that will teach 'D' how to learn cat language?

It would make communication so much easier.

Nap Time

I'm so tired today, so this will be a short but sweet post. A short and sweet poem to be honest.

Nap - By Keldan

I love to sleep and I love to nap.
I love rock-n-roll but don't like rap.
I nap all day and I nap all night.
I'll wake up just to have a bite.

I nap on the floor, I nap on the chair.
I'll nap on your head, because I don't care.
I'm a napping kitty, and I'm hear to say,
I'm gonna nap and nap my life away.

The End

Some snow, then warm.

We did get some snow the other day. Beautiful, white snow. Of course 'D&D' prefer NOT to have snow, but I think it looks pretty. Cold but pretty. And today it was over 50 degrees outside. I could see that spring was around the corner just by looking out the window. I can hardly wait.

Of course I will not be allowed outside - but I will be able to sit on the kitchen counter to look out the door to see the birdies and such.

Cats get spring fever too you know. It's not just a human thing.

And the most fun part about springtime, is that bugs get into the house.

And 'crunch crunch crunch' it's snack time for Keldan!

Winter Storm

According to 'D&D', we are in the middle of a winter storm warning. From what I understand, we are suppose to get a lot of that white, cold stuff they call snow.

I hope so! Maybe they would be able to stay home from work and play with me all day long. That would be nice!

What wouldn't be nice is if they had to go to work and get stranded! That would not be fun at all!

So - lets either hope for LOTS of snow ----- or no snow at all.

The Guitar

'D' has a guitar. He rarely plays it these days, and when he does play it, I think it sounds like a bunch of noise. Noise that hurts my senses. I am sure everyone knows what a guitar is. It's an instrument with 6 strings attached to it, and when 'D' strums those strings, it suppose to make music. Well .... don't want to hurt 'D's feelings, but what comes out of that speaker is NOT what I call music.

Music is suppose to be soothing .... relaxing ..... pleasant to the ears.

When 'D' plays, what comes out of the speaker is loud, throbbing, thumping, grinding, and just plain NOISE.

'D' will say something like, 'This is Black Sabbath', or 'This is Metallica', or 'This is AC/DC'.

I think to myself 'This all sounds the same to me. NOISE!'

Ohhhhh, it I didn't think I would get shocked, I would gnaw through the cord that he uses to play the guitar into the amp. Then I would hear what I like to hear - nothing.

Jimi Hendrix he ain't.

The Canister of Tease

Today when 'D&D' came home from work, 'D' said to me "Keldan ..... I have a surprise for you."

I was sooooooooo excited. A surprise! For Me!!!

He took it out of the shopping bag. I just looked at it. What the heck was it????

It looked like a huge, glass canister.

"It's a huge, glass canister", 'D' said, grinning.

Now, what the heck would a cat do with a huge, glass canister?? The darn thing is bigger than I am. I can't open it. So what good is it, and why is it mine?

The - to my utter shock - 'D' emptied the bag of my hard cat food, into the glass container and placed it on the floor.

"There you go. All your cat food will be nice and fresh!" he said.

BIG DEAL!

I can't open the stupid thing, and now I have to look at all my tasty cat food, through glass; and not be able to touch it .... smell it .... taste it.

THANKS A LOT!

I would just love to put 16 chocolate bars into a glass container that you cannot open, and see how you react!

Oh the humanity!

PS. Actually the cat food does look real pretty in that glass container.

Mouse

Today I'd like to write a poem about the mouse.

Enjoy.

The Mouse - By Keldan

The mouse.
Furry little thing that loves the cheeses.
The mouse.
Scurrying through the house as it pleases.
The mouse.
Laughing at humans with so little care.
The mouse.
Not knowing that this is Keldan's lair.

Run little mousey
Run and hide.
This is my house -
And if you decide.
To come around here
To spread your woe.
You'll end up in my tummy
I'll eat you up ... so.

Run little mousey
As fast as you can.
Before I catch you
and turn you into spam.

The End.

DoodleBug

I have this toy that I like to play with. It's really a toy, attached to a string. Didn't come that way, 'D' made it. The other 'D' calls it a 'doodlebug'. He pulls it along the floor and I pounce on it. When he holds it high in the air, I jump for it. It's really fun! I do like that game.

But is DoodleBug really a word? I do know what a bug is. An ant, a beetle, a bee ... they are all bugs. But for the life of me I don't know what a doodle is. I know what a noodle is - but I think that it is something entirely different. Besides a noodle is sloppy and wet. Don't think I could bat that thing around.

Oh, and a Doodle is something you humans draw on a piece of paper. You know - doodling. But I don't think that is what is meant by 'D'. Because a drawing on a piece of paper and a beetle, wouldn't be a DoodleBug.

Maybe it's a made up word. Like 'tarnation' is. I'm sure you have heard that expression. "What in tarnation are you doing?" And we know that 'tarnation' isn't a country made of tar. It's just a silly word.

Most words are silly, aren't they.

A piece of advise. If you are out on a blind date, and your blind date uses the word 'tarnation', you best beat feet to the door and leave them in the dust. Who knows, what other words they may utter.

I've seemed to have gotten off the track.

Doodlebug.

I do love playing with my doodlebug.

Countdown to Spring

Well. It's February. And according to 'D', spring is just around the corner. Well, I know what that means. 'D' will be spending a lot of his free time outside in the flower gardens, and less time with me playing.

Well, I guess I really don't mind. The backdoor to the outside is left open, and I can feel the breezes through the screen door, and the smells. And I can sit on the counter and look out the door and watch 'D&D'.

And as far as 'D' is concerned, it's all about the flowers. Oh, he has pretty flowers and a lot of them. He takes a lot of pictures of them. And I must admit they are pretty!

And it will be warm! So I can lay in the window and drink up that sunshine!

Oh, does anyone know if cats tan?

Mmmmm I better check on the suntan lotion!
