I have this toy that I like to play with. It's really a toy, attached to a string. Didn't come that way, 'D' made it. The other 'D' calls it a 'doodlebug'. He pulls it along the floor and I pounce on it. When he holds it high in the air, I jump for it. It's really fun! I do like that game.
But is DoodleBug really a word? I do know what a bug is. An ant, a beetle, a bee ... they are all bugs. But for the life of me I don't know what a doodle is. I know what a noodle is - but I think that it is something entirely different. Besides a noodle is sloppy and wet. Don't think I could bat that thing around.
Oh, and a Doodle is something you humans draw on a piece of paper. You know - doodling. But I don't think that is what is meant by 'D'. Because a drawing on a piece of paper and a beetle, wouldn't be a DoodleBug.
Maybe it's a made up word. Like 'tarnation' is. I'm sure you have heard that expression. "What in tarnation are you doing?" And we know that 'tarnation' isn't a country made of tar. It's just a silly word.
Most words are silly, aren't they.
A piece of advise. If you are out on a blind date, and your blind date uses the word 'tarnation', you best beat feet to the door and leave them in the dust. Who knows, what other words they may utter.
I've seemed to have gotten off the track.
Doodlebug.
I do love playing with my doodlebug.
