Yarn!

I now have a new favorite toy (at least for now). It is called 'yarn'.

Now yarn is used for making sweaters, afghans, mittens, and other things.

To me it is a toy. What I love about a ball of yarn, is that it is easy to grab hold of. And I can bite it. (It does taste a little fuzzy).

I can roll it along the floor, toss it into the air, and have a grand old time with it.

What I don't like about the yarn, is that it grows smaller, and smaller, and smaller ... each time I play with it. You see, it begins to unwind itself, until there is nothing left but a tangled line of yarn. And believe me, it can get tangled around anything! Legs of chairs and tables especially!

And guess who has to untangle it when I am done playing with it. Well, guess who it isn't ..... ME.

I guess, yarn is like life. It's so much fun to tangle it up - but it's tedious to unravel it, and wind it all back up into a nice, perfect circle.

No More Toys

Well .... my toys are gone! I'm not talking about those store bought kitty toys, but the toys that were hanging in the big tree in the entrance hall. What 'D&D' call the Christmas Tree.

I loved that tree. So green, so full of pretty lights and so full of TOYS! Those big red globes that I loved to bat around - gone. Oh the humanity!

Now what am I going to do all day long besides napping?

Once a year 'D&D' bring out this tree with all those toys on it. It doesn't stay very long. One day it is there - and the next thing I know - it's gone. I cannot understand why they do not leave it all year long - it gives me something to play with during the day.

Well, I only have about 10 more months to wait. And then - am I going to have some fun!!

Songs

I enjoy singing. Of course D&D look at me oddly whenever I sing. I think I sound excellant. They look at me a bit puzzled at first, then they begin talking to me in their little 'kitty' voice, asking me if I am hungry, or do I want to play. All I want to do is sing. Can't they realize that? I know that everything I say or sing sounds like "meow meow meeeeowww" to them, so I really cannot find fault with their reaction. I want to say to them in a human voice, "I WANT TO SING. GET ME A CANE AND A TOP HAT AND LET ME DO MY THANG". But I cannot. So as I am singing ........ 'I love to eat those mousies .. mousies I love to eat - bite off their tiny heads and nibble their tiny feet', they find a cat toy thinking I want to play. So, I amuse them and play with them for a bit. Sometimes I really do tire of entertaining the humans.
